My Christmas Gift to Gibson: Mutt Puppets!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas!!  I was super duper excited to give Gibson his gift(s) this year.  Why? Because I got him these adorable toys that I found through my OpenSky shop! They are called Mutt Puppets.

I thought they looked cute online, but they are way better looking in person!  Here's a little blurb about Mutt Puppets from the company:

It all started back in 2003 when a husband and wife saved their dog’s life as she was choking on the stuffing from a plush dog toy. After that eye opening experience Michael & Theresa Fraser have been on a mission to create stuffing-free dog toys called MuttPuppets! Holding dog toy manufacturers and their default ideas to higher standards, Michael & Theresa eliminated the dangerous stuffing with their 3 layer design, and combination concepts. MuttPuppet won back to back Pinnacle Awards from Pet Age Magazine, determined by their reader requests in the toy category, also featured in Modern Dog Magazine, Dogs Magazine, the Pet Expert Charlotte Reed, and recently selected by FIDO Friendly’s 100 BEST PET PRODUCTS.
They are basically stuffing free toys that are made to be very durable, but at the same time fun for dogs!  The standard Mutt Puppet (above) has a detachable (by velcro) head and a secret treat pocket that came with a rawhide bone:

Gibson can not figure out how to get the bone out and it drives  him crazy! He has so much fun tossing the toy around and rolling around chewing on the pocket.  He nubs like crazy with this guy :)

The other toy is called "Mutt Nutts" and look like little nuts attached to a rope.  On the back of these there are more treat pockets, which I filled with treats today and drove Gibson even more crazy :)

Oh yes, and both of them squeak, of course!!  These are both super fun and available in my OpenSky shop if you are interested (three come in the pack.. read below for where the third one ended up ;) ).

Here is Gibson's first experience with a Mutt Puppet:

Besides these guys and our Secret Santa Gifts, Gibson also received:

A stuffed chipmunky-type of dude
An antler
4 orange Kong Squeaky balls
A stuffed goose toy
A squeaky Christmas tree

He really made out like a bandit :)

Speaking of Secret Santas, ours was Emily of the Gray House Divided!  Click here to see what we got her and her pup, Wrigley! (there may or may not be that missing mutt puppet ;) )

So, what did your pup get for Christmas this year??

Secret Santa came early!! :)

Ben and I had our little family Christmas celebration last night, which meant we got to open a few presents early!  And so did Gibson, of course :)    Which meant he got to open his gift from his Secret Santa!

The Secret Santa's corgi even left us a little piece of himself...  (yes, him... did I already give too much away? :) )

Time to open!

Ooops, but first a card! Who's my Secret Santa??? Whooooooooo???

It's Zoe & Benhur of Benny's Big Beautiful Blog!!

hehe, and yes, Gibson sniffed Benny's nose spot :)

Ok, now time to open!

Gibson got a cutie sock monkey toy that squeaks!

And a new foxy skinny!!

And I got some cute cookie cutters!! :)

Thanks Zoe & Benny!!! We love the gifts!!! :)

Merry Christmas everyone!!!

Kong Tugger Knots - UPDATE!

Well, it has been a month since I first reviewed the Kong Tugger Knots, so I thought it's about time for my promised update :)

As a reminder, here is what the toy looked like when we first got it (after a day of play):

And here it is now...

Absolutely no stuffing whatsoever, holes everywhere and the rope knots pulled out of the body almost completely (still hanging on by the butt!).

But, I must say, Gibson LOVES it.  We have so much fun playing with this toy!  It's great for tugging AND great for chewing (even if Kong doesn't want dogs chewing on it).

Now that the knots are exposed, Gibson will sit and chew on them like he does his antlers!

The stuffed moose part pretty much serves no purpose other than a soft thing to hold on to while playing tug.  Still though, as rough of a shape as it looks like, it's been a really great toy!  Here's hoping it lasts another month :)

In other news..   We're super excited to open this...... :)

Stay tuned!

I'll choose a winner on Thursday, December 23rd based on the cuteness of the photo and the amount of 'likes' and comments it receives. Good luck! :)

Christmas Photoshoot

I attempted to get a few more shots of Gibson w/our tree where he didn't look super concerned... Although he just looks sad in most of them.. ;)

Except this one! woohoo! :)

Uh oh, there's that concerned look again.

At least it's an adorable concerned look ;)

Stir Crazy Homemade Toys

When it's freezing cold outside and you can't go out,  you can come up with numerous new ways to entertain yourself inside. Gibson and I found out a new way the other day while I was wrapping presents.  What'cha think?  Is it the hot new look this winter?

Naw, it's just a few cardboard tubes from wrapping paper all coiled up!

But they are loads of fun!  You can dress up your dog to humiliate him!

You can even play ring toss on the corgi ;)

He doesn't seem to mind them...

Disregard the horrific look on his face..

He really does enjoy them...

Because once I'm done laughing at him, he can then destroy them!!

Die evil necklaces!!

The end :)

Gibson's House for Christmas

Baby, It's Cold Outside!  We are in the middle of a 'Winter Storm' here and it is crazy!  Winds are blowing up to 45mph!  Gibson and I got blown off the sidewalk this morning while walking.  His butt hair was blowing in every direction.  It looks like the storm in Rudolph.  For reals.

Luckily though, it looks pretty toasty inside of our house.. thanks to all of our Christmas decor :)

Gibson is not so sure about all of this..

He wants his bench back to look out the window.  And he wants me to stop wrapping presents and PLAY with HIM.  Sheesh.   Just a few more weeks of this dude.

Speaking of cold...

I'd like to do another post kind of like "How to BEAT the summer HEAT", only this time it will be "How to KILL the winter CHILL".   hehe ;)

So, how do YOU and your dog survive the winter??  Have special products you use?  Only walk midday?  Play fetch inside?   Let me hear it!  Your responses will be featured in an upcoming post :)
