Old Mother Hubbard Gourmet Goodies Fruit'ins with Honey, Apple & Bacon Duo-Layered Baked Dog Treats

Can you believe it's almost April? Sure doesn't feel like it where I live, but Gibson and I are enjoying actually being able to go for walks again w/o freezing to death! :)

My treats of the month are Old Mother Hubbard Gourmet Goodies Fruit'ins with Honey, Apple & Bacon Duo-Layered Baked Dog Treats! I chose them because, well, hello!  Bacon? Apple? Honey?  What's not to love?

Also, I thought they looked like human cookies, which is always fun for dogs, right? Oh and of course, I love anything by Old Mother Hubbard!!

These treats are crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside and made with wholesome natural ingredients.

And they look tasty!!

I like the size of these. They're a good 'special every day' treat.  Not too big, but bigger than a training treat.   And of course, the Gib approves ;)

New Bed from!

Check out Gibson's new swanky dog bed!  It was sent to us from and we love it!

The bed itself is the Pet Lounge Studios Bambu Daybed and I chose it because Gibson loves sleeping on our couches, so I thought he'd like having one that was all for him instead of growling at us when we want him to get out of our seat ;)

This bed is very high quality.  The base was easily put together and made of 100% natural bamboo!  That's nicer than most of our human furniture ;)   The cushion is filled with orthopedic foam and covered with a washable and stain resistant ultra-suede.  It feels so comfy!

Gibson is still warming up to the idea of a new bed (he usually picks one spot for a few months and then moves to something else), but I'm sure he'll be snoozing on it in no time.  I like that it is an attractive piece of furniture that could be placed in any of our rooms too.  Looks especially nice in Hadley's play area, no?  :)

As I mentioned, the bed is from, which is a great company that I just learned about.

As you can see from the image above, they have free shipping and donate $1 from every purchase to the ASPCA!  The company was started by Ryan and Brittany who were frustrated by the lack of high quality dog beds on the market, so they researched and found brands that sold beds that they'd want to give their own dogs and last a lifetime.

Here is more about their philospophy:
"Our ValuesWhen we started PupYo!, we knew we wanted to provide an awesome, seamless experience for our customers.
We thought: "What would we want if we were buying something for our dogs?"
And we answered:
  1. A simple, enjoyable buying experience.
  2. World class customer service. We mean it. We want to delight you!
  3. Fast shipping with accurate tracking. When we order something online, we want it to arrive as quickly as possible!
  4. The best prices.
And so that's what we've done with PupYo! We provide free shipping on every product we can, and we're committed to providing the absolute best customer support experience in the industry.
We follow a simple philosophy: "How would we want to be treated as customers?"
And that's how we operate.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to call us at (800) 975-6852 or email us @"
So, if you are in the market for a new dog bed, I'd suggest giving a try! :)

Sojos Grain-Free Duck & Cherry Flavor Dog Treats

It's that time for my treat of the month!  This month, I picked out Sojos Grain-Free Duck & Cherry Flavor Dog Treats!  Gibson was clearly attracted to the pink box off the bat ;)

I always choose treats made with duck for some reason.. seems exotic I guess... and the duck & cherry combo sounded delish to me, so I figured Gibson would dig them.  And I can't lie, the pink box was just too cute to pass up..

Back to the treats themselves.. These are another grain-free biscuit that are also gluten free, 100% natural and made from only 5 high quality ingredients!

They are a little bit smaller than I would normally like for a 'special' treat and a bit too big for training treats. So, I'm not that big of a fan of the size.  I normally give Gibson two of the biscuits at once  ;)

Other than the size, I think these are great treats that could be added to your dog's everyday diet!

Nutro Ultra Oatmeal & Pumpkin Biscuits Healthy Digestion Blend Dog Treats

Time for my January treat review from!  This month, I picked out these Nutro Ultra Oatmeal & Pumpkin Biscuits Healthy Digestion Blend Dog Treats!DSC_5829

These All Natural Biscuits come in 4 varieties:
Oatmeal & Pumpkin for Healthy Digestion
Pomegranate & Blueberry Antioxidant Blend
Salmon Meal & Sunflower Oil for Healthy Skin & Coat
Small Breed Formula- Superfood Blend

I chose the Oatmeal because I always worry about Gibson's digestion since he had some tummy problems a few summers ago.  He loves them!  And I love it's a high quality treat!

Here's what Nutro has to say about them:
"Nutro Ultra All Natural Dog Biscuits are made with super-premium whole foods to promote the health and well-being of your dog. The unique blend of nutrient-dense, superfood ingredients delivers superior functional benefits to your dog’s vitality. Ultra Healthy Digestion Blend Dog Biscuits are designed with wholesome, all-natural fibers like oatmeal and pumpkin for dogs with sensitive stomachs to help ease digestion.
Key Benefits

I love the size of these treats.  Big enough to be something a little special, but not too big that you have to worry about your fatty corgi gaining too much weight ;)

All in all, another score from Nutro &!

Catching Up..

Whew, I am soo behind on posting. Remember Christmas a month ago? I did have plans to talk about what Gibson got from his Secret Santa this ear, but seems kind of silly now! So, here is a general update on how things have been going in the Corgi Butts household ;)

Biggest news: I am back at my old job!

My boss asked me back to work  part-time and I gladly accepted!!  I got to choose my own hours and it has been awesome!  Hadley has been in Daycare since early October (a few hours a week), so it wasn't that big of transition for her, so that's nice.  She does still cry her eyes out every day when I drop her off.. and is not a fan of eating much there.. BUT she naps way better there than she does at home!  So that's a plus :)

So that's why there has been a serious lack of anything coming from this blog in the past month!

In other news: it has been the WORST WINTER EVER!!  I can never remember things closing because it is too cold, but we've had 4 days of that already this year.  Poor Gibson has been soooooo neglected.  It's too cold to do anything outside :(  We now have to run around the house to get any exercise.  If I can get him to run up and down the stairs with me 3 times I feel like we've at least done something.  Can't wait til it's in the 30's again!! We could then at least do this:

Next news item: We've been working (again) on Gibson's barking and think we've finally solved the problem.. We bought him a shock collar!  I know, how scandalous, but it was the best purchase we've ever made!  After barking once with it on, he understood what it meant and stopped barking.  We now only put it on him when he's in situations where he can't control his barking (family parties, get togethers & play groups). It has been awesome!!  Everyone comments on how they actually like Gibson now (poor guy) and it's so nice not having to scold him all the time.  And if he starts barking w/o it on, we just have to say, "Collar" and he stops :)  WOO!

Ok, that's it for now.  Will hopefully be back with some cuter posts soon!

Ice Pups/ Steamy Pups! From The Honest Kitchen

My December taste test from was a fun one!  A new product from The Honest Kitchen called Ice Pups.. which is what it sounds like.. an icy treat that you make for your pup.  But there's a twist..
DSC_5270 can also make Steamy Pups!!  Perfect for these cold winter months!

What is it exactly? Well, you get a packet of dehydrated meat, veggies and spices..

...add hot water & mix!!

Then pour that into ice cube trays if you're making Ice Pups..

.. or let it cool slightly then, pour it in your dog's food bowl as a nice broth for them to drink up!

Nom, nom, nom!

Pretty cool concept, and I suspect it could be fairly adaptable.  I bet dog's would love the broth added on top of their kibble!   Or mixed in with a homemade dog biscuit recipe for flavor?

I think it's a cool product (or a hot product.. har har) and think it's worth a try!

Snow Fun with the Astoria Overcoat!

Gibby got a new coat!  We were sent the Gold Paw Series Astoria overcoat to try out a few weeks ago.  Isn't it cute?  Here's the deets on the coat:
Check out Gold Paw Series new Astoria Overcoat! The secret is in the "suppletec" fabric, which is a waterproof fabric that was developed specially for the brand. The exterior is velvety soft, while the interior has contrasting, recycled polyester mesh, with an eco-friendly waterproof barrier positioned in between the two layers. It's comes in fun colors and multiple sizes that are available for your pooch here. And don't worry Gold Paw Series also makes custom sizes so no dogs are excluded!
I think it's geared more for the rainy season, as it's not very thick/warm, but Gibson has a big fur coat on naturally, so this worked pretty well for us!  It definitely is waterproof and kept him dry underneath.

As far as fit goes.. I think it has the same problem as most clothing does for corgis.. Eventually his big mane of a collar got pushed up around his head, which pushed the coat down around his elbows.. Is there a coat available that doesn't do that to corgis??

He does seem comfy in it though even though that happens.  We play fetch in it and he doesn't have a problem running.. Although it was no match for this:

Yes, it eventually fell off from his rolling around.  His old winter coat used to fall off from him just walking around though, so not bad!

Hadley put on her new snow suit too and though he looked pretty funny :)

Snow buddy!!

Dingo Market Cuts Chicken Jerky

I received this bag of Dingo Market Cuts Chicken Jerky to review last month and it has been a hit in our house ever since!

Here is the official press release about the jerky:

Dingo Market Cuts Chicken Jerky are new dog treats, American-made from start to finish. These tasty treats, free of artificial flavors and by-products, are made from 100% chicken and produced in the State of Pennsylvania.
“There is a growing desire among consumers to buy domestically produced goods and Market Cuts will fulfill this demand,” said Ben Miller, Senior Product Marketing Manager for Dingo.
“Pet parents will be able to provide delicious treats to their dogs and support the U.S. economy.” The introduction of Market Cuts Chicken Jerky has created 50 new jobs for Americans at the Pennsylvania manufacturing facility. In addition to the Market Cuts Chicken Jerky, Dingo offers several other U.S. produced treat lines.
Market Cuts are available in Wal-Mart stores across the country (MSRP $14.98).
Another chicken jerky?  Yes.  And these. are. awesome!

First off, they are huge!  The one I am holding below is actually a small one.  There are some that are as big as my hand!  Great for an extra special treat or if you're trying to tide your dog over for a late dinner ;)

Next awesome thing.. there are only 3 ingredients.  Woot!  I can tell how natural they are just by breaking them apart (I usually give Gibson smaller chunks since he's a fatty).   You can actually see the grain of the meat.  You can definitely tell that it is a big piece of chicken.

Gibson absolutely loves these.  Each one gets a special happy dance from him :)

Ideal Balance Treats Giveaway!

Well, my blogging journey with Hill’s® Ideal Balance™ has come to a close.  What better way to end it than with a giveaway!  A treat giveaway to be exact.  More details at the bottom of this post :)

I've learned a lot from these past few months of writing for Hill's®.  Honestly, coming in, I didn't have the highest expectations, but what I've found is that the Ideal Balance brand is comparable to most of the higher quality dog food/treat brands out there!  Why? Well, let's focus on the treats for this one...

  • Hill’s® Ideal Balance™ treats are all natural.
  • Made with real chicken as the #1 ingredient.
  • Grain-free with no corn, wheat, soy, added artificial preservatives, colors or flavors.
  • Made in the U.S.A.
  • Hill’s has zero tolerance for Salmonella.
  • Ideal Balance treats have appealing packaging with a window to view the treats.

Honestly, that's all I ever really want out of a dog treat for Gibson!  They've met all of my standards and then some!  And Gibson loves both of the varieties:

The Oven-Baked Naturals, come in three different flavors. Some fun combos too.. one is Lamb & Apricots!  Sounds yummy ;)  These are also small (which I love for a corgi that will eat everything in sight) and more like a cookie than the Soft-Baked treats below.

These Soft-Baked Naturals  are tiny little soft bones that work great as training treats!  They come in 3 different flavors with healthy ingredients.  Beef & Sweet Potatoes? Yumm :)

I can honestly say that Gibson loves these Hill’s Ideal Balance treats and as his mom, I can feel good about indulging him in such a healthy, high quality snack. I could go on forever about how much we love these treats, but enough about me and my Gibson – it’s time for you and your pups to try them for yourselves!

Twenty lucky winners will receive a variety pack of 3 bags of Hill’s® Ideal Balance™ dog treats!

Just email me at ksteck23(at) with your mailing address to reserve your spot!

All treats have been spoken for!

Thanks, Hills®!
