Grandma Lucy's Organic Pumpkin Oven Baked Dog Treats

Time for the Chewy.com treat of the month review!  This month, I chose  Grandma Lucy's Organic Pumpkin Oven Baked Dog Treats because I thought they sounded delicious :)  I love everything pumkin!  Yes, I am that girl ;)

Gibson was excited and posed nicely with these.  It is a HUGE bag for pretty cheap! Right now, a 14oz bag is on sale for only $5.79!  Great deal considering these are little treats. More on that later...

Like most dog treats I review, these are All Natural and made with the highest-quality ingredients for dogs.  Here's what Grandma Lucy's has to say about them:
Grandma Lucy’s organic dog treats are not made in a factory but baked in a bakery by people who love their pets. Since 1999, Grandma Lucy’s has taken great pride in making wholesome, natural and delicious pet treats. Your dog will love the great taste of these Organic Oven Baked Dog Treats, but what you will love most is the fact that they are made with organic, human-quality ingredients for dogs. The treats are so tasty, your dog will beg for more. Grandma Lucy’s Organic Oven Baked Dog Treats ~ an organic treat you will feel good about giving your pet.

I think the best thing about these treats is that they look like Teddy Grahams for dogs!  They are super adorable, aren't they?? Opening up the bag, you can see just how many treats you get! I usually give these as a training treat since they are on the small size.. or when Gibson doesn't really NEED a treat, but is giving me those eyes.. You know the ones ;)  I don't feel guilty about giving him something small and he enjoys the little treat :)

Merrick Seasonal Grain-Free Homecoming Holiday Recipe Canned Dog Food

It's time for a Chewy.com review!  This month, we tested out Merrick Seasonal Grain-Free Homecoming Holiday Recipe Canned Dog Food.

DSC_7963

I thought it'd be a nice treat for Gibson, since we usually stick to the same type of dry dog food for every meal.   The Homecoming Holiday flavor sounded great with the holidays coming up!

DSC_7964

The ingredient list is pretty good. Standard (dog safe) soup ingredients and it's grain free!

Here's what Merrick had to say about it:
Everyone loves to return home for the holidays - even your pup! Homecoming Holiday is a tasty recipe with chicken, sweet potatoes, peas and butternut squash in gravy.
Key Benefits
  • Grain-free recipe
  • Natural food with added vitamins and minerals
  • Great for all life stages and breeds
  • Made in the USA!

When I opened the can, I thought it did indeed look like soup.. it smelled like it too! I was tempted to try some.  Gibson smelled something  yummy too....

DSC_7967

It said to feed a 25lb dog 2 cans a day, so I went ahead and poured the entire can into his dog bowl (those blue things are part of his 'slow down bowl'

He gobbled it up and spent like 20 minutes licking every bit off the bottom of the bowl.  Definite winner from Merrick!!

The Honest Kitchen Wishes Dehydrated Pure Iceland Haddock Fillets Dog & Cat Treats

Time for the Chewy.com review of the month!

This month, I chose The Honest Kitchen "Wishes" - Pure Iceland Haddock Fillets

DSC_7757

These treats are exactly what the name says. 100% Dehydrated Haddock.  I love dog treats that only have a few ingredients, so I was intrigued!

They pieces of fish come in a variety of sizes, which is nice if you want to give your dog a lot or a little.  And they are also easily broken apart if you'd rather only give a taste at a time.

Here's what The Honest Kitchen had to say about them:
Wishes are suitable for both cats and dogs, and can be used as a general reward or training aid. Made with 100% wild-caught Haddock from Iceland using sustainable fishing practices. They’re grain-free, delicious and perfect for sensitive pets who suffer from allergies or intolerance to certain foods such as grains and proteins. Wishes come in large, dehydrated fillets – they can be snapped into smaller pieces for your dogs or cats.
Key Benefits
  • Gourmet treats suitable for both cats and dogs
  • Made with just one pristine ingredient!
  • Popular with even the fussiest hounds
  • Grain-free & Gluten-free makes it perfect for pets with sensitive stomachs
  • Made in a human food facility with 100% human-grade ingredients in the USA!

DSC_7766

The verdict?? Googly eyes of course ;)  Gibson thinks they are the greatest thing on the planet!!

DSC_7768

I, on the other hand, forgot I have a serious sensitivity to all things that smell 'fishy'.. and these are almost gag-inducing.. ooof!   Every time I'd open the bag to give him a treat, my whole kitchen would smell like fish.  So, I think these are a great treat, overall, but I wish they came in some other flavor.. like chicken? For those of you that that don't mind the smell of fish, enjoy! :)

Corgi Party Dessert Toppers For Cupcakes, Cookies & More!

This is one of my favorite things I've ever reviewed.. Edible Corgi Dessert Toppers!!

DSC_7770

Jen from Three Cheers for Corgis on Etsy designed them and they are printed on edible frosting from Ticings.

DSC_7772

I tried them out for a birthday party I was going to and they were a hit!!  All the kids loved them and wanted a doggy cupcake.  I taste tested them and they are a little stiff at first (kind of like fondant), but after a couple of hours they mold to the frosting you've applied them too and you can barely tell they are there.  I actually prefer the texture of them over cupcakes without a 'sticker'.  Have a bit more bite to them.  So much fun!!
